Primary School

At primary school level learning often takes place through cross curricular topic based study reading, writing and math's are tied together with the elements of science, geography, history and art. For example, pupils gain appreciation of a history topic, such as ancient Egypt by writing an instructional text on the process of making a mummy in literacy and crafting their Egyptian plaster masks in an art lesson. By placing children at the center of the learning experience we encourage them to investigate, discover and to learn how to harness their abundant natural curiosity. There is a strong emphasis for them to learn to work independently and in groups while making the latest information technology tools available.

Secondary School

At secondary levels students are taught by subject specialists which encourages learning to be organized and independent. Students study a rich and varied curriculum giving them the opportunity to be successful not just in academic subjects but also in art, music & sports. Our school values the unique strengths of each individual and by encouraging critical thinking and independent enquiry we aim for all our pupils to become competent problem solves and decision makers. We believe expectations play a role in motivating students and instilling within them a responsibility for learning. Teachers actively engage students by connecting the curriculum to their interests, their strengths and real world activities.

About

The departments

All of our teaching and classroom support staff are qualified, experienced and hold a recognised university degree in their chosen field as well as an appropriate teaching qualification. Most have previously taught in the Indian education system and all are involved in regular professional development.
Thanks to our low student to teacher ratio, Scottian teachers are able to adapt their methods and teaching styles to suit the needs of individual pupils. They also maintain incentive schemes to ensure that students of all ages remain highly motivated in both their academic work and other activities.
We offer an after-school care programme for younger students as well as a range of extra-curricular programmes including Sports, Arts & Crafts, Music and Drama.

SANCHETNA CURRICULUM

Special education programs are designed for those students who are mentally, physically, socially and/or emotionally delayed. This aspect of delay places them behind their peers. Due to these special requirements, the needs of these students cannot be met within the traditional classroom environment. Special education programs and services adapt content, teaching methodology and delivery instruction to meet the appropriate needs of each child.

We prepare the students for the environment in which they will live and work. Reasonable learning goals are set for each student depending upon their needs. These students do not take standard exams, they are given alternative assessments. In our school we have students with the following conditions.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder refers to a developmental disability that significantly affects communication (both verbal and nonverbal) and social interaction.

  • Intellectual Disability
  • Intellectual disability is defined as a significantly below average functioning of overall intelligence causing adverse effects on the child’s educational performance.

  • Specific Learning Disability
  • Specific learning disability refers to a range of disorders which cause an impairment in one’s ability to listen, think, read, write, spell and/or complete mathematical calculations.
